Meddling KidsMeddling Kids by Edgar Cantero
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The nostalgia was real with this book.

For this novel, I listened to the audiobook version, and it took me a few tries to get started. The book is written in an interesting style which I fell in love with but it took a while for me to get used to it. Especially as I was listening to someone else read it, and I couldn’t go at my own pace.

This is a modern and much darker spin on a Scooby-Doo mystery. The title and the silhouettes on the cover make this evident as well.

I love goof retellings of concepts that I love, so naturally, I loved this one too.

The characters are reminiscent of the Scooby gang, and yet they are completely unique. This is the story of a summer detective club who saw real monsters and years later as adults went back to solve the mystery.

For anyone who grew up loving Scooby-Doo, I definitely recommend giving this book a try.
