Lately I have’t really been in the mood to write book reviews, I preferred to just read. So, today I’d like to do start doing a seasonal reading wrap up, just to let you all know what I’ve been spending my time on.

Here is a summary of how much and what I read during the Summer months (and a bit of winter while I was in the Northern Hemisphere).

December 2018

Total Books: 21

Total Pages: 6071

Reading Summary: During December I finished reading the Harry Potter series and all the companion books. I really wanted to reread them all before Crimes of Grindelwald came out, but I didn’t quite make it. Luckily I got to go see it twice in cinemas so I didn’t mind too much. I also started rereading the Narnia series this month.

Least Favourite Book: Whiskey Words and a Shovel II. I really wasn’t impressed with this poetry book (and a bunch of others). It put me off of reading poetry for a while.

Favourite Book: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. It really made a huge impact to read this book just before the new year started and it helped me get a handle on taking control of my life.

January 2019

Total Books: 17

Total Pages: 4449

Reading Summary: I finished the Narnia series and started with A Series of Unfortunate Events after watching the final season on Netflix. I also got up to date with The Dark Artifices and the Shadowhunter Universe.

Least Favourite Book: Pillow Thoughts. Another poetry book that I didn’t enjoy.

Favourite Book: The Bullet Journal Method. I went out and bought myself a hardcover copy of this book and I read it very thoroughly and made a ton of notes. I started my whole Bulelt Journal system from scratch and it really made a huge difference to my mindset and productivity.

February 2019

Total Books: 14

Total Pages: 4072

Reading Summary: I continued with A Series of Unfortunate Events and read a whole bunch of random books inbetween. I also started reading Jenny Han’s books and I love them all.

Least Favourite Book: Draco Dormiens. The old fanfic by Cassandra Clare is definitely not one of her best works or one of my favourite fanfics. I really struggled to get through this one and I started on the sequel but just couldn’t get through it. It really shows how authors can improve so I’m glad I read the first part, as I found it motivational for my own future possibilities as a writer.

Favourite Book: The Reader’s of Broken Wheel Recommend. This was a book that my mom recommended to me and I really enjoyed it. I haven’t read adult fiction in a while so this was a really great break from all the young adult books I’ve been reading lately.

Summer Tally

Overall Books Read: 52

Overall Pages Read: 14 592

Goodreads Goal Update: I completed my 2018 Challenge and ended up reading 115 books out of my 100 book goal. I set my 2019 Challenge for 156 books (3 books per week) and managed to read 31 books towards that goal.

That was just a brief overview of what I’ve been reading lately but you can check out my Goodreads profile for up to date info on my reading activities.

I should mention that I have been making it a bit of a mission to reread all my old childhood favourites, so they are making up a good majority of what I’m reading.

I also have some university textbooks that I added to my Goodreads for the first time. I’m doing a bit of an experiment to see whether I will actually finish the books on time now that I am keeping track of them with all my other reads. I’ll let you know how it goes in my Autumn Wrap-Up!

Thanks for dropping by

xoxo
