This is my second episode of Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by That Artsy Reader. Last week I did My First Top Ten Tuesday and it was so so fun to join for the 10th Anniversary. I focused on my Winter TBR for 2020.
This week I will be telling you all about my Top 10 Most Anticipated Releases for the last half of 2020. I went through my Goodreads TBR and I was actually pretty surprised by the amount of upcoming releases I have on there. My top 10 was pretty easy to pick. Let me tell you why I am so excited for these books:
1. Again, Again – E. Lockhart
I absolutely ADORED We Were Liars and I think E. Lockhart’s writing is so captivating. This will be my second book by this author if I can get my hands on it and I really hope I do.
2. Love, Creekwood – Becky Albertalli
I have read Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda and Leah on the Offbeat in the Simonverse and I really enjoyed both of them. I still need to read The Upside of Unrequited and I am excited to read more about these characters in Love, Creekwood as well.
3. Sex and Vanity – Kevin Kwan
I devoured the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy by Kevin Kwan and I saw this book pop up on my timeline a few days ago and immediately added it to my list. I love Kwan’s writing style and I have really high expectations for Sex and Vanity.
4. Hollowpox – Jessica Townsend
Nevermoor absolutely crawled into my hear a few months ago, so much so that I bought the physical copies of both Nevermoor and Wundersmith because I know I will be rereading this series for many years to come. I still need to read Wundersmith but Hollowpox will be joining my collection soon enough.
5. Midnight Sun – Stephanie Meyer
Okay yes, I am indeed a Twihard. I reread the Twilight Saga earlier this year and I am very excited to read Midnight Sun (even though I was really hoping for The Host’s sequel) and probably reread the entire series again. There’s just something so comforting about childhood favourites.
6. Thirteens – Kate Alice Marshall
At the beginning of the year I read Rules for Vanishing and I was completely absorbed for an entire 24 hours. It’s a Young Adult Thriller and it got me craving all things creepy. Her newest book looks like a Middle Grade and it’s marketed at Coraline meets Stranger Things, both of which I absolutely adore for the creepy intrigue, so I am eagerly anticipating this book.
7. The Lost Book of the White – Cassandra Clare
I have read all of Cassandra Clare’s books up to date so naturally I am really looking forward to the second installment of The Eldest Curses. I adore Magnus and Alec and I can’t wait to see what else they get up to in The Lost Book of the White.
8. The Tea Dragon Tapestry – Katie O’Neill
This is the third book in the Tea Dragon graphic novel series and Tea Dragons are the cutest thing I ever did see. I fell in love with these little creatures in the first book and I still need to get my hands on The Tea Dragon Festival and The Tea Dragon Tapestry soon after. This is another series that I really want to own physical copies of because of how much I love the art and the story.
9. Watch Over Me – Nina Lacour
I read and enjoyed We Are Okay. Lacour’s writing is entrancing and I am very intrigued by this cover and the story. There are mentions of ghosts which is one of my obsessions, and I am curious to see a supernatural story from this award winning author.
10. Horrid – Katrina Leno
I have read all of Katrina Leno’s other books and I love love love her writing! Summer of Salt and Everything All at Once are my favourites from her so far. Horrid is contemporary horror and I am really in the mood for creepy books lately!
I didn’t realise how many releases I am actually super excited for until I went and looked for them for this post! It’s so easy to just mindlessly keep adding books to my Goodreads TBR but I think I could be a lot more mindful.
What are you excited for for the second half of 2020? Any new or upcoming releases that you think I’d be interested in?
Keep thinking, Inklings.
xoxo
