City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cassy Clare certainly knows how to write good endings. So far, all the last books in her trilogies have been my favourites, and it is definitely true with City of Heavenly Fire too.

Finally, Clary and Jace are together again, even if there is still the obstacle of the Heavenly Fire standing in their way. They manage to defeat their enemies with a trip to a hell dimension on their resumes to boot.

We are introduced to Emma Carstairs and Julian Blackthorn and I have heard rumours that the next trilogy is about them. I am looking forward to seeing how they grow and what their futures hold after such tragic beginnings.

The only unhappy-ending belongs to Simon and Isabelle, but I am sure it will not remain that way for long.

Overall, I do feel that some of the things that happened in the books were a bit unnecessary, but it is a good series and I enjoyed the interaction between the characters from different time frames. We also find out how Jem is cured and finds his way back to Tessa in Clockwork Princess. She is still one of my absolute favourite characters in the Shadowhunter world.
