21 Things I learned Before 21

Last month I turned 21 and here are a few things that were on my mind before this milestone:

  1. It’s okay to not be okay.
  2. No one is perfect. They are perfectly themselves.
  3. Sometimes one tiny word or action of kindness can make someone’s day.
  4. Drinking water really does make a difference. (To how you feel emotionally and physically)
  5. Writing is more therapeutic than talking sometimes.  i.e Start a journal
  6. Appreciate the simple things in life. Tip: look into ‘Hygge’ (the Danish know what’s up)
  7. Life is all about finding your balance and sticking to what works for YOU.
  8. Family is important, but it’s perfectly alright not to share their beliefs.
  9. Dog’s really are human’s best friend.
  10. All animals deserve unconditional love.
  11. You’re never too old (or too anything) to follow your dreams.
  12. Don’t give up on something just because it doesn’t come easy to you. It takes a lot of hard work and practice to be good at anything.
  13. Don’t make decisions or assumptions based on the words of others. Make up your own mind about things.
  14. You are what you eat.
  15. Everyone can draw.
  16. Alcohol and caffeine don’t agree with (my) anxiety.
  17. Bad habits can be broken when better habits are introduced.
  18. Learning does not need to be done at school. Find ways to learn on your own whenever you can.
  19. No one is who they appear to be at first glance. Take the time to get to know people.
  20. When you find a physical activity you love, exercise won’t feel like a chore.
  21. I will be an eternal student. Learning for the rest of my life.  (Travel and be curious. It leads to beautiful discoveries.)

  1. When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Cheers!

I think you should be able to click ‘unsubscribe’ somewhere in those emails. I don’t have control of that from my side unfortunately 🙂 hope that helps.
